Reformed boozer Paul Heaton has become a pub landlord after purchasing a bar in his native England.
The former Beautiful South frontman purchased the King's Arms in Salford because the opportunity to own a pub was "too good a chance to miss".
Heaton now uses the upstairs part of the building as space to rehearse his music, while he hopes to use his new role as landlord to bring the local community together.
He says, "It just came along and we wanted to take it on. It's a bit of a fractured community around the pub, with city centre flats (apartments) on one side and Salford houses on the other. We want to try and bring those people together a bit more."
But the ex-The Housemartins star, who has previously battled a drinking problem, is adamant he will be a "sober landlord".
