Paul Walker - Paul Walker Emotionally Drawn To Hours

Paul Walker was drawn to 'Hours' because he felt emotionally attached to his character.

The 'Fast And The Furious' actor plays concerned father Nolan, who is trying to keep his prematurely-born newborn child alive in a New Orleans hospital ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, and the 38-year-old star was touched by the part because he imagined being in a similar situation with his 13-year-old daughter Meadow.

He told the Washington Post: ''This father is doing everything he can to just keep things going, keep electricity going, to keep this little baby going.

''My little girl means the whole world to me. I really want to believe that if I was placed in the same situation that I would rise above, that I would be able to see it through the end and do what it would take to make sure my baby came out on top.''

Producer Peter Safran admits he enjoys how much the movie - which has started production - ''challenges'' Paul.

He said: ''Paul is literally in every scene. I love how this project challenges him.''

While the main focus of the film is on Hurricane Katrina, screenwriter Eric Heisserer insists the motion picture's main focal point is the subject of parenthood.

He explained: ''It's about parenthood. As I was writing this screenplay, I could see every scene. There comes a point where you fall in love with a project so much you just can't let go of it.''

'Hours' is expected to be released in early 2013.
