Pete Doherty - Pete Doherty Planning New Year Rehab Stint
Troubled rocker Pete Doherty is planning a return to rehab in the New Year (13) after cutting short a stint in a Thailand clinic over the summer (12), because he wasn't mentally ready to "commit" to the program.
The former Libertines frontman, who has battled substance abuse issues for a decade, was thrown out of The Cabin in Chiang Mai in July (12) after allegedly disrupting fellow patients' treatment while attempting to beat his drug demons for good.
However, Doherty insists he is dedicated in his mission to become sober and is keen to return to the facility in 2013.
In an interview with Britain's Mail On Sunday, he says, "It was an unbelievable experience for me. I went through the detox and experienced life clean of drugs. It gave me a vision of how the future should be.
"Unfortunately, I wasn't ready mentally to commit and I ended up coming home. My plan is to finish writing my new solo album and head back there in the New Year. I want to have a proper run at it, scramble over the wall and land in a world of cleanliness."
