Peter Andre is preparing to drop everything in order to care for his brother who has been diagnosed with kidney cancer.

The 38-year-old singer flew home to Australia last week after discovering his 52-year-old brother Andrew Andre has the illness, and although he has now returned to England, the pop star is ready to return Down Under as soon as he is needed.

He said: Depending on test results, which he'll get next Monday (05.03.12), I'll either be jumping on a plane straight back out here or I'll be able to stay in London.

''Unfortunately, Andrew has been diagnosed with kidney cancer. He's having two major operations in the next couple of days and then after that the doctors can do tests to see if it has spread anywhere else. I'm hoping and praying it hasn't spread but if it has, I'll fly Down Under immediately to be with him.''

Peter also revealed he has found it difficult to break the news to his kids, Junior, six, and four-year-old Princess Tiaamii.

He said: ''I explained to Junior that his uncle Andrew isn't well and he's been speaking to him a lot on the phone. He's got it into his head that if someone isn't well in Australia, it must be because they've been bitten by a snake, so he keeps saying, 'Did you get bitten, Uncle Andrew?' Luckily, Andrew can see the funny side.''

Peter admitted the past week has been stressful for him and his family but says it has also made him realise how important his loved ones are.

He added in his column for new! magazine: ''You can imagine it's been a stressful ten days and we've had

a lot of ups and downs. I'm so close to all my family and at times like this you realise how much people mean to you.''
