Raf - Prince William Lands 'Sea King' On Prince Edward Island
Prince William Of Wales wowed crowds in Canada today (4th June 2011) when he performed a complex helicopter manoeuvre during a Search and Rescue demonstration. William, who flies Sea Kings out of Raf Valley on Anglesey, took centre stage on his royal tour with wife Kate Middleton.
To the delight of the thousands who had turned out to catch a glimpse of the royal couple, Prince William donned his helicopter attire and delicately landed a Sea King on a lake before travelling along the surface of the water. Wearing a navy coat over an Alexander McQueen pencil dress, wife Kate watched on anxiously from the side-lines. The event was part of a full day of celebrations scheduled in Charlottetown, the capital city of Prince Edward Island province. Speaking in front of Province House to nearly 20,000 fans, William said, "It is quite a moment for Catherine and me to be standing here in Atlantic Canada, in front of Province House, where Canadian federation was forged", adding, "Here, in the crucible of Canadian nationhood, we look forward to meeting many of you". The couple's visit to the National War Memorial in Ottawa on Friday (1st July 2011) triggered wild celebrations from a 10,000 strong crowd.
Prince William and Kate Middleton's first official royal tour will last for nine days in total. The couple head to Yellowknife, the capital of the North West Territories, tomorrow.
