Professor Green's attacker has been released from prison after serving just two years.

Anthony Jones attacked the 'Monster' rapper with a broken glass bottle outside a nightclub in May 2009, leaving the star with a six-inch scar on his neck and was jailed for eight years in 2011 after being found guilty of of GBH with intent but he has now been released, according to heatworld.

Professor Green - whose real name is Stephen Paul Manderson - gave evidence during the court case where he told how he feared he would die from his injuries.

He said: ''''I was scared. I know what happens when people tend to get cut in the neck. I was extremely lucky, nothing lasting, fortunately.''

The 29-year-old rapper - who recently announced his engagement to 'Made In Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh - was also forced to defend himself after he was accused of ''snitching'' on blogs and web forums, saying he had to give evidence, but didn't feel good doing it.

He said: ''I nearly lost my life and I was in a position where I stood to lose everything if I don't go to court.

''It wasn't like I was snitching because I wasn't taking anything off my shoulders and putting it on someone else's, there was something morally correct to do.''

''I've not had a clean past. I've been arrested. If I'm a rat, how come when I was looking at years I didn't implicate anybody?

''I don't believe in snitching. If you've put yourself in a predicament then you should deal with that and you should be man enough to take the responsibility.''
