Queen Latifah is giving aspiring female rappers across America a boost by calling on them to support her on tour.
The singer/actress, who started out as a hip-hop star, feels it's her duty to nurture new female talent - because there aren't enough women in rap.
She says, "In my entire career... never has it been so male dominated as it is right now.
"I would be doing an injustice if I don't try to help bring up the next up-and-coming female rappers... It's just not right to have hip-hop with no female voices anymore.
"There was (M.C.) Lyte, Salt-N-Pepa, Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, Missy (Elliot)... Eve, and now there's like one person, maybe.
"So far I have 25 dates booked, 25 different cities, and so I want to discover the new female rapper or the new female rap group."
Latifah is asking wannabes to register on her website and upload a minute of a song.
