The widow of actor Anthony Quinn has mounted a legal battle to gain control of land bought by her husband on the Greek island of Rhodes in 1960. Local authorities claim the land should not have been sold to the non-Greek native, but KATHARINE QUINN wants to resolve the long-running case. ZORBA THE GREEK star Quinn bought the land for $2,925 (GBP1,500), and it is now valued at $1.95 million (GBP1 million), but Greek authorities have been embroiled in a long court battle with the late star and his wife, declaring the purchase void in 1984 due to strict property regulations in the country. Quinn's lawyer STEPHANOS STRATIS says, "The transaction was endorsed by Queen Frederica, the consort of King Paul and by the prime minister at the time."
