Singer R. Kelly is eyeing a move to Broadway with his Trapped In The Closet music project.
The unusual scheme started when the I Believe I Can Fly hitmaker began releasing a series of story-telling songs in 2005.
The 23 tracks and their videos have formed a continuous modern-day opera over the years and he premiered the latest installments on Monday (19Nov12) at the Landmark Sunshine Theater in New York.
Speaking at the event, Kelly revealed plans to take the project to Broadway: "(I) just got an offer from Broadway to do a Broadway version, that's what I'm working on."
The singer also insisted he has plenty more chapters in store for fans of the series, adding, "I want everybody to know I've got 85 chapters of Trapped in the Closet waiting in the studio for y'all. The chapters that are coming - the show, we call it - is going to exceed every chapter that you have ever seen."
Trapped in the Closet tells the story of a one-night stand and its subsequent repercussions.
