Kate Upton, America's most popular model who graced the cover of this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, stars in an upcoming commercial for Zoo York that has been deemed too racy for television. In the ad, the curvaceous bombshell is seen jogging through Tompkins Square Park in New York's East Village.
According to the New York Daily News, a "belly-baring" Upton takes her time stretching around a group of skateboarders while the brand's famous "talking cockroaches" begin a conversation using double entendres and words such as "grinding", "backside" and "waxed". The commercial was scheduled to debut on cable networks and online in early April - to coincide with Upton's sudden rise to fame - though MTV and the Adult Swim Network rejected the ad for its use of "bleeped profanity" and an image of Upton's "erect nipple". The 19-year-old herself said, "This was such a funny commercial! Who knew cockroaches were so racy and hilarious? Definitely a must-see!", while Jameel Spencer, the Executive Vice President of Marketing for Zoo York's brand management company said, "She compliments the brand's Dna, making her a perfect addition to the campaign."
