Rage Against The Machine have joined Peter Gabriel and Rush to protest the use of their music on conservative U.S. talk radio personality Rush Limbaugh's show.
Gabriel demanded that his music be removed from Limbaugh's daily show after learning his song Sledgehammer was used during the broadcaster's attack on a student who had testified at a Congressional hearing on contraception.
The rocker was "appalled" to learn the track was part of Limbaugh's radio rant, in which he called Georgetown, Washington, D.C. student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "a prostitute" for arguing that her university's health insurance should cover birth control for female students.
Rush joined the former Genesis star after learning their song The Spirit of the Radio was also used during the segment at the beginning of the month (Mar12), and now Rage Against The MAChine have demanded that the right-wing talk show host stop playing their track Sleep Now In The Fire on his radio show.
In a post on Twitter.com, guitarist Tom Morello writes, "To Rush Limbaugh: Hey Jacka**, stop using our music on your racist, misogynist, right wing clown show. Sincerely, Rage Against The MAChine."
