Rocker Randy Blythe has appeared in a court in the Czech Republic to deny a charge of manslaughter.

The Lamb of God frontman spent more than a month behind bars in Prague last summer (12) after he was accused of contributing to the death of 19-year-old fan Daniel Nosek by pushing him offstage at a gig in the city in 2010.

Nosek later died after two weeks in a coma due to head injuries.

Blythe, 41, was bailed in August (12) and allowed to fly home to his native U.S., but he has returned to Europe to fight the allegations.

Speaking in court on the first day of the trial on Monday (04Feb13), he said, "I do not shy away from responsibility. I am not a person who runs away from problems. But I do not want to be punished for something I did not do."

Blythe faces five to 10 years behind bars if convicted.

The trial continues.
