Randy Savage - Randy Savage Killed In Car Accident
Savage">Randy Savage has died following a car accident in Tampa, Florida. Former WWF wrestler Randy Savage was taken to hospital on Friday (20 May 2011) where he later died from his injuries.
According to TMZ, Savage's brother Lanny Poffo explained that the 58-year-old had suffered a heart attack whilst driving with his wife on Friday morning (20 May 2011). Savage then consequentially lost control of his Jeep Wrangler, drove through a concrete median towards oncoming traffic, until eventually colliding head on with a tree. Savage's wife Lynn was only mildly injured. A statement from WWE.com read: 'WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, a.k.a. RANDY 'MACho Man' Savage. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. We wish a speedy recovery to his wife Lynn. [He] will be greatly missed by WWE and his fans'. Whilst according to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, an investigation into the accident is still underway.
Randy Savage's career spanned over twenty years, during which he won seven heavyweight titles, including two in the then WWF and four in the now defunct WCW. Savage celebrated his one-year anniversary with wife Lynn earlier this month.
