Incarcerated rapper Gucci Mane's appeal for a reduced prison sentence has been rejected following his conviction on battery charges last month (Sep11).
The hip-hop star, real name Radric Davis, pleaded guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one count of disorderly conduct, stemming from an incident in January (11), when he was accused of pushing Diana Graham out of his moving vehicle in Atlanta, Georgia.
Davis was ordered to serve six months behind bars, but he returned to the State Court of DeKalb County on Friday (28Oct11) to ask a judge to cut short his punishment by three months.
In return, the rapper offered to stage a benefit concert for the DeKalb County Battered Women's Shelter - but the request was denied by Judge Eleanor Ross.
She told the court, "I don't think it would be appropriate to let him out just because he's a rapper."
