A rare recording of the SEX PISTOLS' GOD SAVE THE QUEEN has gone on sale for $16,000 (£10,000).
Record Collector magazine editors claim the A&M Records' version of the 1977 single is the world's most valuable vinyl disc because the punk legends, fronted by Johnny Rotten, were dropped by the label before the track's release and most copies were destroyed.
The single, which is available for sale on www.991.com, is said to be a "mint, unplayed copy... obtained from an ex-industry source with impeccable credentials".
The description states, "This is not only one of the rarest records in existence but is certainly the most sought after and no serious record collection is complete without it."
