Rashida Jones has apologized for her 'thoughtless' remark regarding John Travolta 's sexuality during an interview on website SpinningPlatters.com.
The actress was promoting her new movie 'Celeste and Jesse Forever' with her co-star Will McCormack when the subject came round to singer Frank Ocean and his recent public admission to having a homosexual relationship. 'There needs to be, like, a professional athlete that comes out', said MCCormack, before Jones (daughter of music producer Quincy Jones) came out with, 'And a movie star! It's time...Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let's do this.' The comment came following persistent allegations of sexual assault by the 'Pulp Fiction' star, who is married to Kelly Preston, from several masseurs; accusations that continued to arise even despite the initial claims being proved false. Jones had added that 'big stars need to come out' and said that she was 'really happy' when Ricky Martin came out as gay. She also expressed that she thought people were 'precious' about their careers.
Jones took to Twitter yesterday to express her apologies for what she said: 'Made a thoughtless comment about John Travolta. I sincerely apologize. Nobody's personal life is my business'.
