British rockers Razorlight stepped into a boxing ring on Wednesday (08Jun11) to perform a special fundraising gig to help save a London gym from closure.
Frontman Johnny Borrell regularly visits the British capital's famed All Stars Boxing Gym, which will shut down unless bosses can raise $160,000 (£100,000).
Borrell and his bandmates staged a 90-minute benefit concert for 250 fans from inside the gym's main boxing ring - and managed to pull in $6,400 (£4,000) to donate to the cause.
A number of U.K. champions including Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe and Frank Bruno have trained at the gym, which was opened in 1974 for boxers who were snubbed at other venues because of their race.
Borrell says, "A place like this is so important to London as well as the local community. It'd be a tragedy to lose it."
