Nikki Reed took Jaden Smith as her 'date' to the premiere of her new TWILIGHT movie - after the youngster's famous dad WILL organised an introduction.
The actress walked the red carpet with the 11-year-old The Karate Kid star at the launch of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in Los Angeles on Thursday night (24Jun10).
And when asked how she ended up taking her young pal to the premiere, she revealed the pair became friends after a bold gesture by Smith's superstar dad.
Reed explains to E! Online, "I invited him (Jaden) when we were on Ellen (The Ellen DeGeneres Show) together. Will Smith came into my room and was like, 'It would be really cool if you could say hi to my son.' My jaw was, like, on the floor. I was drooling and flabbergasted. I was like, 'Yeah, sure! I can meet your son.'
"And then Jaden comes in and he's like, 'Hey, what's up?' because he's so cool. He taught me some karate moves and I was like, 'Do you want to be my date to the Eclipse premiere because I don't have a date?'"
She jokingly adds, "I guess that makes me a cougar. Yeah, I'm a cougar!"
