Report Warners "Furious" With Radcliffe
Following what today's (Wednesday) New York Post described as "tense negotiations," Warner Bros. has agreed to buy up all the tickets at the Broadway theater where Daniel Radcliffe will be starring in a revival of the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on several nights in July so that Radcliffe will be to take the nights off to promote the final installment of the Harry Potter series. According to the Post , Warners and the Broadway producers had engaged in "a bitter battle" over Radcliffe after the producers refused to release Radcliffe so that he could appear at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 at London's Trafalgar Square on July 7. The newspaper quoted a source as saying, "Warner Bros. is furious that Radcliffe committed to Broadway when he should be promoting Harry Potter. This is the final film, so it's a big deal." It has thus far cost Warners more than $500,000 to buy up the seats, said the Post. Radcliffe's spokesman dismissed the matter as a common scheduling issue. Warner Bros. declined to comment.
