Republica's Saffron Sprackling once shared a toilet with Missy Elliot, Spice Girls and Eternal.

The 'Ready To Go' singer and her band were at the height of their fame in the late nineties, and although they got to hang out with lots of other A-list stars at events, it wasn't always a glamorous affair.

Speaking about an MTV Awards backstage party in Milan, she remembered: ''The girls' changing room was basically just one toilet, so we had the Spice Girls, Missy Elliot, Eternal and I all trying to get changed in this tiny toilet.''

The vocalist has recently reformed the group - which also includes Dave Barbarossa, Andy Todd, Johnny Male, Tim Dorney, Pete Riley - and is looking forward to recreating some of the wilder days of their early career.

She added to BANG Showbiz: ''People still talk about Britpop with such fond memories. It was definite hedonistic times but I think whenever you have a great musical movement there are going to be wild parties because that's what rock 'n' roll is about.

''We all feel privileged because it was such a great time for music; it was so exciting ... with British bands touring around the world. I think it's a lot harder these days for young bands, music's a lot more fractured.''

Republica have announced a UK tour starting next month and are have also been confirmed to play the Isle of Wight festival this summer.
