Rihanna and Chris Brown shared a passionate kiss at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, The Sun reports. The former couple have been fuelling speculation for months that they may still be in love with each other, despite the fact that Chris Brown was convicted of assaulting Rihanna back in 2009, when they were dating. The restraining order that prevented him from contacting her was dropped back in February 2011 and ever since then, there have been rumours that they may well re-kindle their romance.

Last night, Rihanna may have won an award for Video of the Year, which she collected onstage, wearing a stunning floor-length white dress. She may also have returned to the stage, dressed in red, to perform her brand new single ‘Cockiness.’ That’s not what everyone’s talking about this morning though. If Chris and Rihanna get their relationship back on track, it will be a far bigger talking point than any award or live performance could ever spark.

Rhi-Rhi has been criticised for allowing Chris back into her life, after he violently assaulted her, leaving her with a bruised and bloodied face but in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, she said “It's awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain it and suppress it. When you don't understand those feelings you can make a lot of mistakes.” Sounds to us like she’s making excuses for him: here’s hoping neither of them make the same mistakes they’ve made in the past.
