Rihanna - Rihanna Fuming Over Poisonous Pop Princess Label
Rihanna has aimed a scathing rant at a U.K. newspaper columnist who labelled the singer a "poisonous pop princess" and a "toxic" role model for young fans.
The singer is fuming after reading an article by writer Liz Jones, published in Britain's Daily Mail on Tuesday (25Jun13), which featured the tag line "Pop's poisonous princess: Glorying in drugs, guns and sleaze, Rihanna's toxic role model for her army of young fans".
The feature accused Rihanna of setting a bad example with her saucy dress sense and racy dance routines, and also published pictures of her brandishing what appear to be two giant marijuana joints during a trip to Amsterdam, Holland last week (ends23Jun13).
The Umbrella star has now expressed her anger over the article and fired back at the author in a furious online rant.
In a post on Instagram.com, Rihanna writes, "If you sincerely wanna (sic) help little girls more than their own parents do, here's a toxic tip: don't be amateur with your articles, you sound bitter!... That s**t ain't journalism! That's a sad sloppy menopausal mess!!! Nobody over here acts like they're perfect! I don't pretend that I'm like you, I just live... My life!! And I don't know why y'all (sic) still act so surprised by any of it!!"
Rihanna goes on to insist she has never intended to be a role model for young girls, adding, "Role Model is not a position or title that I have ever campaigned for, so chill wit dat (with that)! I got my own f**ked up s**t to work on, I'll never portray that as perfect, but for right now it's me!! Call it what ya (sic) want!! Toxic was cute, Poisonous Pop Princess had a nice ring to it, just a lil (sic) wordy!"
