Rihanna has been named Esquire Magazine's 'Sexiest Woman Alive', replacing last year's winner, actress Minka Kelly. The R&B superstar, whose new album 'Talk That Talk' is slated for release on 18th November 2011, is now regarded as one of the biggest female pop singers on the planet.
The magazine bestowed its prestigious title on Rihanna this week, but the singer remained sceptical of the honour, telling Esquire, "At the end of a concert, I don't feel I've been this sexy thing. Really, I don't even think about it.Unless it's for a song that really calls for it, like 'Skin' or 'S&M' or when I cover (Prince's) Darling Nikki". The award see's Rihanna join such Hollywood stars as Jessica Biel, Halle Berry and Scarlett Johansson, all previous recipients of the 'World's Sexiest' tag. The Barbadian singer appears on the cover of Esquire's November issue and spoke candidly of her tumultuous relationship with Chris Brown during the accompanying interview. Brown was infamously convicted of assaulting the 23-year-old in 2009, but Rihanna is pleased to see her ex-boyfriend resurrecting his once-faltering career, saying, "(I'm) really excited to see the breakthrough he's had."
'We Found Love', the first single from Rihanna's forthcoming record 'Talk That Talk', was released on 22nd September 2011. The track topped the charts in the UK, while peaking at No.9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
