Rihanna took an embarrassing tumble on stage last week.

The 'California King Bed' singer was performing in Edmonton, Canada, on Wednesday (22.06.11) as part of her 'Loud' world tour and during a rendition of hit single 'What's My Name', she tripped over her shoes and fell on her face.

Despite the trip in front of 16,000 fans, the 23-year-old singer managed to regain her composure and carried on with the show.

Rihanna is not the first star to have taken a tumble on stage recently.

In April, Lady GaGa fell from a flaming piano during a concert in Houston as she performed her 'You and I', but carried on singing as if nothing had happened.

And earlier this month, British singer Jessie J had to be rushed to hospital after falling off an onstage platform during rehearsals for a gig, tearing a ligament.

After The Fall, she tweeted: "Just want to let my #heartbeats (ones waiting outside wembley) know that I have been taken to hospital after falling off a platform. (sic)

"I have ripped a main ligament in my foot and have been put on crutches and told to rest. Im in a lot pain :( so please dont wait in the cold for me.. #sorry! :'( (sic)"

Over the weekend she performed at Glastonbury, but had to sit down on a throne as her foot was in a cast.
