Rihanna spent lots of time listening to British dance legends The Prodigy to come up with inspiration when writing songs for her new album 'Rated R'.
Rihanna's new album is inspired by The Prodigy.
The 'Umbrella' hitmaker is set to release her new LP, 'Rated R' later this month and says she drew ideas from a diverse range of artists, including the dance legends, when penning the tracks.
She said: "The new album is inspired by a lot of different songs like hip hop, there's a lot of bass and there's a lot of rock, I listen to a lot of Prodigy and Chase and Status, we actually worked with them on a lot of the production and they helped develop the new sound."
The album features a range of guest stars, and the singer particularly enjoyed working with former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash.
She added: "We have collaborations on there, people like Slash, who is the ultimate Rock Star."
Rihanna marks the release of 'Rated R' with a special concert at a secret location in London tonight (16.11.09) that will be streamed live at www.nokia.com/rihanna.
