Rocker-turned-director Rob Zombie was honoured for his movie work at the New York City Horror Film Festival on Friday (09Nov12).

The Dragula hitmaker, who has directed films including House of 1000 Corpses and a 2007 remake of John Carpenter's Halloween, was the guest of honour at the annual gathering, where he was presented with the Michael J. Hein award for Personal Achievement In Direction.

In his acceptance speech, Zombie told the crowd, "This is nuts!... Thank you very much for this award. I have only been doing this for around 10 years, I got to make six movies in 10 years so thanks for watching them. It seems like it should get easier, but each one gets harder."
