Robbie Williams Blasts Glastonbury

Robbie Williams has slammed Glastonbury Festival.

The Take That singer last played the annual festival - one of the largest in Europe - as a solo artist in 1998, but criticised it as being "full of d**kheads", claiming Take That won't perform because organisers don't pay the acts a substantial enough fee.

When asked if the band would headline Glastonbury next year, he told Liverpool's Radio City: "Absolutely not. It's a s**thole full of d**kheads. They pay you about five pence."

The 'Angels' hitmaker - who quit Take That in 1995, a year before they initially split, and declined to join former bandmates Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Duncan for their 2005 comeback - recently admitted he may have turned his back on his music career had he not been given the opportunity to sing with the band again.

He said: "If it wasn't for the boys, I would probably be doing nothing because I quite enjoy doing nothing now. It does feel like the end of one of the last chapters in the book and I do feel a bit spent.

"But I'm loving what's to come, obviously, and I'm very excited being back with the boys, our album sounds amazing, I'm excited to do the tour and all that business."

The headliners for Glastonbury 2011 are rumoured to be U2, Coldplay and Prince.

Take That's new album 'Progress' will be released on November 15.
