Robbie Williams has his eye on Michael Jackson's old pad, Tmz reports today (March 26, 2012). The former Take That singer was apparently the first prospective buyer to be shown around the Carolwood mansion, which has just been relisted for sale at $23.9 million.
Anyone wishing to look around the property must be able to prove that they have the funds to purchase it. It's no surprise that Robbie qualified for a viewing though; he already bought a property in Beverly Hills for $16 million, in 2008. Robbie's overall worth has been estimated at $149 million, meaning that he wouldn't be overstretched if he wanted to make an offer on the ill-fated mansion. And, according to Tmz he also bought a house down the street and uses the land as a soccer pitch. Robbie arrived at the house in his Range Rover to have a look around, but his representative have no clues as to whether he would be making an offer on the property.
Michael Jackson did not own the property himself but was renting it at the time of his death. Jackson, aged 50, died of a Propfol overdose whilst he was at the property. Jacko's landlord was Hubert Guez, the Ceo of the Ed Hardy brand. The property boasts 13 bathrooms, 7 bedrooms and is 17,000 square feet, in total. There is a swimming pool in the grounds and inside, there's also a movie theatre. The asking price of $23.9 million is vastly reduced from the $38 million that Guez originally wanted for the property when it was on sale in 2008.
