R&B singer ROBIN THICKE sought the permission of his actress wife Paula Patton before including naked models in his new music video BLURRED LINES.

The Sex Therapy hitmaker recently recorded the track with rappers T.I. and Pharrell Williams and they shot two versions of the promo - a child-friendly one, which was released last week (ends18Mar13), and another strictly for adults.

The X-rated second promo, directed by Diane Martel and featuring a handful of sexy women dancing nude for the cameras, hit the Internet on Tuesday (26Mar13) - and it's already proved to be a big hit online.

However, Thicke reveals he only went ahead with the saucy project after receiving the thumbs up from the Precious actress.

He tells the Associated Press, "When I first got both videos, I liked them both, but I thought the first one is so good maybe we'll just release that and not release the second one. And then I started playing it for my friends and my lady, and everybody just thought it was great. It's entertainment... Obviously if she (Patton) didn't like it, I wouldn't put it out."
