Nme - Rocker Dan Treacy In Intensive Care After Surgery
Cult British rocker Dan Treacy is fighting for his life after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.
The Television Personalities frontman was placed in an induced coma on Monday (10Oct11), reports NME.com.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the 61 year old's medical condition.
In a statement, his bandmates - Texas Bob Juarez, Mike Stone and Arnau Obiols - say, "The band is very much concerned for our dear friend and Brother Daniel at this time, and we are all praying for a recovery."
Treacy and the group rose to fame in the 1980s with cult album And Don't The Kids Just Love It.
The singer/songwriter was recently honoured by MGMT on their song Song for Dan Treacy.
Treacy has been the only constant member of Television Personalities since the band’s inception in 1978.
