Veteran British rocker Eric Burdon has been forced to postpone the release of his new album to undergo back surgery.
The former The Animals frontman has been suffering from back pain for over three years, but doctors in Los Angeles hope to solve the problem by scheduling him in for a routine operation this week (begs23Jul12).
The 71 year old is expected to make a full recovery within three to six months of the surgery, and as a result, his managers have decided to push back the 2012 release of 'Til Your River Runs Dry until the first quarter of next year (13).
Burdon's representatives have also cancelled his live commitments for the near future, weeks after the singer pulled the plug on a tour of Europe this summer (12) due to his ongoing health problems.
