Sam Rockwell treated the woman who inspired his movie CONVICTION to a round of drinks - so he could get her tipsy and hear her real accent.
In the drama, the actor plays Kenneth Waters, a man who was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1983 before his sister Betty Anne earned a law degree so she could represent him in court and get his conviction overturned.
Rockwell couldn't meet his character Kenneth, who passed away just six months after he was released from prison, so he decided to spend time with Betty Anne to master her Massachusetts lilt.
He tells Britain's Empire magazine, "I wanted to get the Boston accent on tape. So I got her (Betty Anne) a little sauced on beer to get her relaxed, then taped her while she read the lines... it was a fun time."
