The Rolling Stones have sparked a frenzy among fans in the U.S. by flashing their logo and song lyrics in cities across the country amid rumours they are preparing to announce a massive North American tour.

The rockers played a handful of dates in the U.K. and U.S. last year (12) to mark the band's 50th anniversary, and they are now rumoured to be putting together plans for a huge 18-date trek of the States.

The speculation has been fuelled by an eye-catching stunt in cities across the country - the band's lips logo, song lyrics and Wednesday's date (03Apr2013) have been flashed on video screens outside concert venues in Los Angeles, San Francisco in California, and Boston, Massachusetts.

Billboards featuring track titles have also been erected, sparking speculation a U.S. tour will be announced on Wednesday. The band currently only has one show lined up for 2013 - a headline gig at Britain's Glastonbury festival in June (13).
