Ronnie Wood - Ronnie Wood's Former Stepson Organised Controversial Auction
Ronnie Wood's former stepson Jamie encouraged his mother to put the rocker's belongings up for auction in California last month (Oct12) in order to cover his bills.
The Rolling Stones' star's ex-wife Jo sold off an estimated $640,000 (£400,000) worth of his personal items - including clothing and instruments - at the two-day event, which came one year after their divorce was finalised.
Wood had previously insisted he was "shocked and disappointed" by his former partner's decision to sell off his possessions, but now her son Jamie has revealed he was the driving force behind the auction.
He tells Britain's Daily Mail, "Blame me. We needed to get rid of all of Dad's s**t which we've had in a warehouse for three years. My mum would have given it all to (charity) Oxfam.
"But I've got three kids and a mortgage to pay and I thought: 'They're Dad's trousers, people will pay good money for them.' So I spoke to a friend who runs an auction house in America."
Jamie admits he is not on good terms with the musician, adding, "It's painful, but what can you do? I thought me and Dad were really close, but I've moved on. Dad left and there was never a conversation between me and him. I can't demand he sits down and talks to me. Dad has always been in his own world and that's the way he likes it. He does what he wants in the selfish way that rock stars can."
Wood left Jo, his partner of 23 years, in 2008 after his affair with a Kazakhstani waitress was exposed. He is now set to marry for the third time after recently proposing to partner Sally Humphreys.
