Roots Manuva closed the second day of Tramlines festival last night (21.07.12).

The 'Witness (1 Hope)' rapper brought the Nokia Lumia Live stage at the event in Northern England to a close, following sets by Ms Dynamite, Charli XCX and Clock Opera.

Speaking after he came off stage, Roots told BANG Showbiz: ''Things went really well, it's nerve-racking sometimes because you really want everything to be perfect, and a lot of things had changed through the day with stage times and things, but The Feeling out there was great and just to get out there and play was absolutely amazing.''

The three-day citywide festival encompasses almost every genre of music, from rock and pop to blues, folk and electronic music, showcasing performers from across the country. Highlights yesterday included The Destroyers, This Many Boyfriends and Keep Shelly in Athens.

Local musician Toddla T performed on the Red Bull Studios Live stage and has been involved with the event since its inception in 2009, curating a stage every year.

He said: ''I've been doing this since year one, and it's just got bigger and better every time. The first year it was done it was a proper Gamble, so everyone was nervous, because there had never been an event like this in Sheffield, but it was the most amazing weekend ever.

''From then it's just got better and better every year. It caters to absolutely everyone in the city, so it's a great, great event.''

Tramlines concludes today (22.07.12) with performances by We Are Scientists, 65daysofstatic and Field Music among others.
