Actor Rupert Everett left two British Tv presenters squirming with embarrassment on Wednesday (19Sep12) when he made an obscene comment live on air.

The screen star was being interviewed on U.K. chat show This Morning about his movie Hysteria, which tells the story of the invention of female sex toys.

As he explained how the device was originally designed to cure a range of health issues for women, the actor slipped and left presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby giggling with embarrassment.

Everett said, "For all sorts of female conditions, seen from the perspective of men, (which is) really very insulting - anxiety, bad moods - it was all put down to hysteria... (Women would go to their doctor and) have a kind of hand job. Basically a massage."

As Willoughby looked on aghast, Schofield told Everett, "Massage is a better word, but that's okay."
