'Smooth Operator' singer Sade often thinks about retiring after making an album but enjoys the freedom her job offers.
Sade often considers retirement.
The 'Smooth Operator' singer admitted she sometimes thinks she wants to give up, but can't follow through.
She said: "Is it still worth it? I think it is. After every album, I think, 'Right that's it, no more.'
"But how lucky am I at my age still to be doing this without any outside pressure?"
Despite music bringing in the money for Sade, she admitted that being a mother to her daughter Ila has been the hardest job she has undertaken.
She said: "Being a mother is the biggest and hardest job I've ever undertaken.
"I'm not complaining but I've never had a nanny. For years after she was born I put Ila to bed every night. As soon as she arrived she became the centre of my life."
The 51-year-old added that she has previously taken her daughter on tour, but didn't expose her to the crowds.
She told the Sunday Times Magazine: "I didn't let her see any of the concerts because I didn't want her to hear people shouting for her mum. She wasn't ready for that."
