Sage Stallone, the 36-year-old son of Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone, could have been dead in his room for around 3-4 days, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with Sage reportedly "lived like Howard Hughes" in his home, often spending days in his room which was "littered with junk".

The gossip website reports that there were two drawers filed with various pill bottles in Sage's room, though cigarette butts, beer and soda cans were also scattered around. Nobody had spoken to Sage for around 7 days, and although the housekeeper has been at the property earlier in the week, she had specific instructions to never enter Sage's room. The actor's mother eventually called the housekeeper after being unable to reach him, asking her to stop by and check on him. She subsequently found the body in the room. Law enforcement sources have told that it's "pretty clear" from the evidence found the death was an accident, though they did provide further details concerning a possible cause of death. Sylvester has already appealed for privacy over the tragedy, releasing a statement that read, "When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha", adding, "This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives.Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace".

Sage starred alongside his father in 'Rocky V' and 'Daylight'. He picked up the award for Best New Filmmaker at the Boston Film Festival in 2006, for his short drama-movie 'Vic'.
