James Bond - Sam Mendes Welcomes 'Huge Challenge' Of 'Skyfall'
Following the announcement that the latest in the James Bond franchise will be called 'Skyfall', the film's director Sam Mendes was full of praise for the long running film series which has made the careers of actors such as Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. He was joined by current bond Daniel Craig as well as fellow stars Javier Bardem, Berenic Marlohe, Judy Dench and Naomi Harris as they celebrated the beginning of the 50th anniversary celebrations since the first film - 'Dr. No'.
Speaking at a press conference, Mendes said "I was a huge fan of the Bond movies as a child- Live and Let die had a huge impact on me - I got very excited when I saw Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, he is a great actor." The director, who was known as something of a prodigy following an Academy Award win for Best Picture with his debut 'American Beauty', furthered "I thought the story was fantastic I wanted a huge challenge."
Judy Dench, who'll be appearing in her seventh Bond film as M, said that she was still to fully grasp the role, explaining "I will never get a grip on who M is but I try to keep a grip that is my job." The film is expected to see release sometime next year.
