The Scissor Sisters have announced an indefinite hiatus but assured fans they will be back onstage "before you know it".

The I Don't Feel Like Dancin' hitmakers told of their plans to separate as they wrapped up a show at the Roundhouse venue in north London on Wednesday (24Oct12).

Frontman Jake Shears later took to his page to tell followers the split doesn't mean the end of the band.

He writes, "Thank you London for all your love. And don't worry, we're not going away forever. We'll be back before you know it. With bells on. Love you."

His bandmate Ana Matronic adds, "It's not goodbye. Just good night."
