Director Wes Craven's horror classic Scream is heading to the small screen as a new TV series.
The 1996 slasher film, starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, became a big hit upon its release and it has since spawned three sequels.
But the thriller will soon be scaring up a whole new audience as bosses at MTV are in the process of developing a TV version of the popular franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A writer has yet to be appointed to the project and it is not yet known if Craven and original screenwriter Kevin Williamson will be involved.
Scream 4, the latest movie in the series, hit theatres last year (11) with new castmembers Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere.
