The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band has topped a new poll of best album covers.
The colourful artwork on the 1967 classic, which features the Fab Four in a park, surrounded by cut-outs of icons and celebrities, saw off competition from George Hardie's Dark Side of the Moon creation for Pink Floyd in the RollingStone.com online poll.
Announcing the winner, editors write Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is, "without a doubt, one of the most iconic images in the history of rock & roll."
Third on the list is Nirvana's Nevermind and Abbey Road by the Beatles and The Clash's London Calling round out the top five.
