Controversial rapper Shahin Najafi is reportedly in hiding after hardline Muslims in his native Iran issued a fatwa demanding his death.
The hip-hop star, who fled to Germany in 2005 after he was banned from performing by the Iranian government, is in hot water over his new track, Naqi.
The song references human rights abuses and oppression and allegedly takes its name from revered Islamic figure Ali an-Naqi, which has infuriated some clerics in the rapper's homeland.
British newspaper The Independent reports a $100,000 (£62,500) bounty has now been placed on Najafi's head by bosses of an Iran-based religious website.
The rapper says, "I am still in disbelief... I will never apologise for my art or for speaking the truth about the Iranian government."
