Sharon Osbourne - Sharon Osbourne Embarks On Atkins Diet
Reality TV star Sharon Osbourne has shed 11 pounds (4.99 kilograms) in two weeks after embarking on a new diet plan.
The rock matriarch has struggled with weight issues over the years and famously lost 100 pounds (45.35 kilograms) in 1999 after undergoing surgery to fit a gastric band to shrink her stomach.
However, the successful results of the operation didn't last and she had the lap band removed in 2006.
Osbourne, who turns 60 in October (12), has now found a non-surgical way of keeping the extra weight off with the low carbohydrate food plan.
Speaking on her U.S. daytime show The Talk, Ozzy Osbourne's wife says, "I sort of realised I am approaching 60 very, very quickly... and I wanna lose weight. I've tried everything in my life, you know I've had things, a band that didn't work, I tried everything. And I went in and tried the Atkins diet and in two weeks, I've lost 11 pounds...
"The Atkins diet is a perfect combination for me of vegetables and protein, and I've never felt so good. I want to be an inspiration for women between the ages of 50 and 60 to say, 'You know what, I want to do that, I can do that!' because 60 is the new 50!"
