Sheryl Crow - Sheryl Crow: 'I Felt Bad For Ex Lance Armstrong'

Sheryl Crow has offered her support to ex-boyfriend Lance Armstrong just weeks after he was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles amid ongoing accusations he used banned performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career.
The singer admits she hasn't spoken to the retired cyclist for years but it has been tough for her to sit and watch the drama unfold over the summer - as Armstrong was hit with new charges he doped up for races by officials at the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, who ultimately took away his trophies and handed him a lifelong ban from the sport as they investigate claims.
Appearing on U.S. newswoman Katie Couric's new daytime talk show Katie on Monday (10Sep12), Crow said, "He's someone I really care about... I know how hard he worked to win those titles and it was hard to watch. I felt bad for him, I felt bad for his family... He's a hero that we've watched for a long time and admired.
"I don't see him... (but) knowing him, I have to imagine that the fact that he just said, 'Look, take them (titles)...' He's probably tired of the whole fight."
Crow did not discuss reports suggesting she was questioned by U.S. federal authorities over the sportsman's doping scandal.
Sources told the New York Daily News that the Grammy winner, who was once engaged to the former world cycling champion, was allegedly asked whether she had any knowledge about accusations that Armstrong was using illegal drugs to enhance his performance.
