British singer/songwriter James Morrison is aiming to bounce back from a severe throat infection with a performance at the Dubai Jazz Festival on Friday (24Feb12).
The Wonderful World hitmaker was forced to postpone the remainder of his U.K. tour on doctors' orders last week (ends19Feb12) and he has now pulled out of a scheduled appearance at London's Brit Awards on Tuesday (21Feb12) too.
But Morrison's hoping to be fighting fit in time to fly to the United Arab Emirates after a few extra days of bed rest.
A statement posted on his official website on Monday (20Feb12) reads: "As a result of his illness James will now also be unable to attend tomorrow's Brit Awards ceremony, where he is nominated for Best British Male...
"James plans to return with a headlining show at the Dubai Jazz Festival on Fri Feb 24."
Morrison adds, "I'm obviously also gutted to miss the Brits. It's been an amazing year for British music, I was so stoked (excited) to be nominated. And it's always a memorable night out. Sadly, though, it looks like I'll still be tucked up in bed on Tuesday night. But at least I can watch it on the telly (television)."
