Silver screen star MIRIAM SEEGAR WHELAN has died of old age in Pasadena, California. She was 103.
The Indiana-born actress first made her name on the stage in London and went on to star in a series of British films in the late 1920s.
She met her husband Tim Whelan when he directed her in 1929's When Knights Were Bold.
Upon her return to America in the early 1930s, she starred in films like What a Man and Out of Singapore.
She eventually turned her back on acting and became a successful Hollywood interior designer.
Seegar Whelan died on Sunday (02Jan11).
