Simon Cowell's pop protegee Cher Lloyd has done her mentor proud - her debut single Swagger Jagger has jumped to the top of the U.K. charts.
The 18-year-old star landed a record deal with Cowell's Syco Music label after finishing fourth on his U.K. reality show The X Factor last year (10).
The singer hit number one on Sunday (07Aug11), knocking former The X Factor stars JLS from the top spot - the band's She Makes Me Wanna was at number two.
In third place was Glad You Came by The Wanted, while The A Team by Ed Sheeran and Louder by DJ Fresh featuring Sian Evans rounded out the top five.
In the album charts, the late Amy Winehouse topped the countdown with Back to Black for the second consecutive week, following her tragic death last month (Jul11).
Adele was runner-up with 21, Winehouse's debut Frank came third, another Adele album - 19 - was at four and Beyonce came fifth with 4.
