Jessica Simpson has taken legal action against a U.S. magazine for romantically linking her to embattled golfer Tiger Woods.
Woods has been hit with a series of claims he was unfaithful to wife Elin Nordegren after a string of alleged mistresses came forward with stories of secret trysts with the star.
And Simpson, who was once snapped with Woods at a golf tournament, was linked to the sports star by America's Star magazine. The publication reported the pair had swapped contact details.
A source told the mag, "Tiger liked what he saw and let her know it."
Simpson is furious with the insinuations and her representative has branded claims the two were more than passing acquaintances "ridiculous" - and the star's legal team is already moving to shoot down the magazine's allegations.
The singer/actress' publicist tells E! News, "Literally the only thing that's true in the story is the fact that they met. It was a quick meeting, and they posed for a photo together - that was it. Jessica's lawyer is sending them (Star magazine) a letter this afternoon."
