Producers of a musical based on the songs of Frank Sinatra reportedly planned to take it to Las Vegas - but were scuppered by the licensing rights for Ol' Blue Eyes' shows.
Come Fly Away, which follows four couples over the course of one evening in a nightclub, and is choreographed to Sinatra's hits by Twyla Tharp, hit Broadway last month (Mar10).
Investors were eyeing a lucrative move to Sin City - where Sinatra performed residencies for more than 40 years - later this year (10), but were forced to scrap the plans, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix.
The musical's representative, Michael Hartman, tells the publication, "The producers knew about the pre-existing deal for Sinatra's rights in Vegas before they licensed the rights for Come Fly Away. This is no surprise, and no one is scrambling."
